PR and journalistic strategy

Champneys tasked Zest the Agency with carrying out local, regional and national PR activity to support brand recognition as a prestigious and respected British-brand.

Our immediate approach was to understand the brand values of the country’s oldest health spa group, while maintaining the importance of promoting it as one of the most cutting edge and up to date staycations.

Recognising the vast number of story opportunities that the staff and different locations exposed, we approached Champneys with a journalistic eye; visiting each location, interviewing staff and reviewing unique areas of the business. We worked on delivering a diarised strategy with themed content, forging relationships with lifestyle influencers to create unique and engaging content.

We also saw the potential to engage regional press, providing the media with a constant drip-feed of news, ensuring the spa’s PR success, events and special packages were regularly communicated.

Immediate press coverage

Within the first few months of being appointed by Champneys, 56 pieces of coverage was achieved including Hello, Female First, The Sun, Fabulous Magazine, The Independent, The Hotelegraph (Telegraph supplement), Muddy Stilettos (Women website), OX (luxury lifestyle magazine), Chloe Lloyd (national social media influencer), The Daily Mail, Mail Online, Black Beauty and Hair Magazine  and Hayley Marie Sparkes (travel and beauty influencer).

In addition, we have built key partnerships with all the major regional titles and media in the areas relating to the location of each of the five Champneys resorts.

Don’t take our word for it!

The team at Zest PR were quick to identify our brand values and ethos and quickly translated that into a comprehensive PR strategy which immediately bore fruit. They are well connected and clearly very experienced in bringing a journalist’s eye view to the PR challenge.
